The Fingerboards Project will involve the continuous rehabilitation of the mined area as mining proceeds.

Approximately 95 percent of the mined material (mainly sand and clay) will be returned to the mine void and the land will be rehabilitated and restored to agricultural use and native vegetation as the mine progresses.

Kalbar Operations will restore all parts of its post-mined ~1,200 hectare Fingerboards mine footprint landscape to a stable, safe and productive state. On almost two thirds of this area, land will be rehabilitated back to productive pasture containing pasture grasses, legumes, and also including elements of the pre-existing native grass component.
